Sensory Sundays

Sensory Sundays provide increased accessibility for those with sensory sensitivities to enjoy the museum without large crowds or extra stimuli. Our planetarium and Science Theater will be open and provide opportunities to experience public programs tailored for Sensory Sundays. Support backpacks are also available at our Admissions desk, for Sensory Sundays or on any other day the museum is open to the public.

Fire Prevention Week
October 4-11, 2025
Visit the museum and join us in raising awareness for Fire Prevention Week starting Oct 4th-Oct 11th. Shriners Children’s Ohio will have a table Oct 4th with information to help raise awareness around fire prevention. The Science Theater will feature an incredible show of Warming up Reactions to talk about the fire triangle and showcase some amazing demonstrations, and the Do Lab will be leading an activity to learn about the power hidden in batteries.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Wild at Heart Premiere

Ohio: Wild at Heart, from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Academy Award®-nominated producers MacGillivray Freeman Films, is the story of Ohio’s great outdoors and successful conservation efforts aimed at restoring its natural wonders. From soaring with eagles to fireflies lighting up the night sky, the film also highlights the joy and meaning that come from spending time in the natural world.
Join us in welcoming this new film in our Caryl D. Philips Space Theater on October 19th at 3:00pm.

National Chemistry Week
October 19th – 25th
Join us for a full week of chemistry, with special programming beginning on October 20th! The American Chemical Society is celebrating The Hidden Life of Spices during its annual National Chemistry Week. Throughout the week Boonshoft will have spice themed Do Labs, Science Theater shows, and other hands-on programs. We will end the week with a special festival of hands-on spice activities on Saturday October 25th from 10AM to 4PM.
